SFAX COSTART
It aims to encourage the national ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship to embrace sustainability and make an impact in southern Tunisia (Sfax – Gabes – Gafsa – Sidi Bouzid – Tataouine – Medenine – Kebilli and Tozeur). It also aims to support 15 startups that meet the sustainable development goals (SDGs) through a specific support program, i.e. the following SDGs:
ODD5: Gender equalityODD6: Clean water and sanitationODD7 : Clean and affordable energy ODD8: Decent work and economic growthODD9: Industry, Innovation and InfrastructureODD11: Sustainable cities and communitiesODD12 : Responsible consumption and production ODD13: Measures to combat climate changeODD14: Aquatic lifeODD15: Terrestrial life
Challenge 2
The competition will be held in conjunction with the 11th edition of the Salon de l'Entreprise on November 20 and 21, 2024 at the Foire Internationale de Sfax, and will culminate in the crowning of the 3 best startups, who will each receive 3 prizes.
Start-ups from all sectors of the economy are invited to participate if they meet the following criteria:
•Based in southern Tunisia (Sfax- Gabes – Gafsa – Sidi Bouzid – Tataouine – Médenine – Kébili and Tozeur)
• Be innovative by nature and provide value-added solutions
•Adopt a sustainability approach in line with the above-mentioned ODDs ODD5-ODD6-ODD7-ODD8-ODD8-ODD9-ODD11-ODD12-ODD13-ODD14-ODD15
• Be scalable: have international growth potential and can be applied to different companies and destinations (countries, regions).
• an early-stage or Series A start-up
• Pilot test and business plan in place
• Have already gone through an acceleration process
• Having a full-time team
All forms of innovation are welcome: new methods, processes or governance models, social impact initiatives, and technologies.
Participating start-ups will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
• Contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals: ODD5-ODD6-ODD7-ODD8-ODD9-ODD11-ODD12-ODD13-ODD14-ODD15
• Ease of value capture through collaboration with start-up
• Potential impact on business
• Product/technology maturity
• Maturity of team and organization
• Partnership readiness
Benefits for the selected start-ups include, but are not limited to:
• Renforcement entrepreneurial des 15 startups sélectionnées
• Specially designed training and coaching program including individual and group sessions focusing on pitch validation, BP improvement, intellectual property, sustainability, business, leadership and pitch presentation using a theatrical approach.
• Pitch validation and BP improvement
• Access to technological support
• Presentation (pitch) at the 1st day of the Salon de l’Entreprise on November 20, 2024
• Connection to the SYPHAX ANGELS Business Angels network
• Visit to the Salon de l’Entreprise and participation in its various components, including seminars and mini-conferences
• Visibility and communication through presence at the Salon de l’Entreprise
• Announcement of results and prize-giving for the 3 winners among 7 startups at the closing ceremony of the Salon de l’Entreprise November 21, 2024
